Modo 901 - No task progress bar

We’ve noticed a weird thing with Modo 901 jobs. The progress bar per task doesn’t progress. If you follow the logs on the machines you can see the job rendering and giving log feedback. Also, the per job progress bar displays properly. It’s just the per task progress bar will read 0% and then 100% when it’s completed.

Could you post a full log report, incl. the StdOut (log progress) of the progress of one of these Modo 901 jobs? Send to support@thinkboxsoftware.com if you need privacy.

Here ya go. One log from a completed frame and another from a job that’s in progress.

Thanks James. I’ve logged this for further investigation.

I don’t seem to be able to reproduce this issue on Modo 901. What service pack are you using, if any?

Could you post or send a sample scene where this issue has happened to you? Thanks.

Bringing this back up since it’s still happening in Deadline 8. I totally missed Taylor’s response back in February. I’m wondering if this has anything to do with the progress counting down from 100% rather than counting up to 100%. I’ve attached a job log.

Hello James,

So I looked over things and that is correct, the negative progress is the problem and we have categorized this as a bug in Modo.

Thanks Dwight for confirming. So if this is a Modo bug that means it will never get fixed.

We’ll take a deeper look here. It looks like you’re on 902 SP1 at the moment.

Also, would you be able to upgrade Deadline 8.0 SP4? I don’t think it’ll help this problem, but we keep making more changes and this could get cleaner.

Do you think if we used 902 SP1 we’d see this negative progress?

I didn’t even know there was a SP4!! Do you guys send emails out about that?

And yes, every Modo job I’ve seen for 902 outputs their progress like that. Once I get SP4 installed I’ll run another job to see.

Hey James,

We don’t currently send emails when new versions release, but we are looking into a way to do so in future. We are currently on 8.0.7.3.
