We tried to do a tiled render out of modo yesterday and noticed that the tab was grayed out and there was no way to activate it. I remember using it in 6.0. I also noticed that there was mention of it in the newest beta release. Was this feature disabled in the 6.1 release? What was the reasoning?

Hey James,
You need to specify an output folder/prefix, and you need to choose one of the supported extensions to enable the controls under the tile rendering tab.

Right, that’s what we were missing. It’s been a while since we used those functions. While I’m here, what is the new Modo DBR functionality. I’m not familiar with that.
modo has a distributed rendering feature similar to VRay’s distributed rendering:

Not actually sure why we were calling it “tile rendering”, so we’ll have to update that in our docs. Speaking of which, we still need to write those docs. 
Should hopefully have them ready for beta 8.
