mongodb oplog size

Hi there,

We are reconfiguring the mongo servers a little to accommodate the replica set better, and i’ve noticed that the default oplog sizes are really small for deadline.
It requires around 4gigs for ~1 hour of coverage. Is that expected?

Seems chatty (the whole db is around 12gigs), but maybe that’s normal with all the status updates etc

Yeah, that’s probably normal. Deadline is pretty write-heavy in general with all the job, task, and slave status updates. Since the tasks themselves are individual documents, any operations on multiple tasks will show up as separate entries as well.
