Monitor can no longer start

This is an odd one. I had Monitor running yesterday on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.4. I quit Monitor and fired it up today, and it fails to start. I see this in the Console.app window :

The Monitor icon vanishes. I’ve no idea why. To the best of my knowledge, nothing has changed on this system since yesterday.

The problem seems to be related to X11. Is the version of X11 on this machine the version that is shipped with OSX, or was it downloaded from XQuartz? The version of X11 that is shipped with the OSX install disc should suffice, so there is no need to install from XQuartz.

Also, are you able to run X11 by itself (/Applications/Utilities/X11)?

Cheers,

As mentioned, Monitor had been working fine. X11 starts up in the dock and is the standard OS X X11.app bundle. I never installed an alternative X server on Snow Leopard. The Monitor dock icon vanishes shortly after the X11 icon appears (and that icon stays in the dock until I kill it)

I’ll reboot the machine once it finishes chewing on the current frame, just in case it’s a quirk - just wondered if it had been seen before. Hopefully a reboot will clear it up.

Yeah, hopefully a reboot fixes this. We haven’t seen this problem before.

I had only mentioned xquartz because when I googled some of the X11 error messages, that’s what all the threads I when through kept mentioning.

I was suspicious about this line, to be honest :

03/11/2010 06:53:10 [0x0-0x11b31b2].net.deadline.DeadlineMonitor[31960] Gtk not found (missing LD_LIBRARY_PATH to libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0?), using built-in colorscheme

That’s a normal warning printed out by Mono. It should have no effect on any of the Deadline applications.
