Monitor laggy since update to 4.1

we installed deadline 4.1 on a different machine and repointed the slaves to the new repository. both the old repository machine and the new one are running windows 2003 server. two weird things are happening - i’m unable to get the monitor to connect to pulse even though the machine shows up as running pulse in the pulse tab. also, any kind of refresh in deadline monitor (whether it’s everything, just a slave, just a job) causes a hang of about 30 seconds. previously pulse was not running here, and there were hundreds of jobs in monitor, and it would almost-instantly update. right now there’s just one job.

looks like i figured it out with the method of poking.

the lag was due to the fact that monitor was unable to connect to pulse. so every refresh, it was trying to, and it was making it not respond. i took out the name of the pulse machine in the configuration and the lag went away

for some reason i had to put the ip of the pulse machine in the configuration instead of just the name to get them to connect.
