Yeah, I complained about it too and it is being fixed.
It seems to be a side effect of adding Esc key handling to the PRT Volume.
Since PRT Volume cannot predict when it will reach 100%, it has to show that sort of moving dots progress. The code was shared with Frost and it became a regression.
Should be fixed in the next build.

That has nothing to do with it.
In the latest internal build of Krakatoa MX, Darcy added ESC key handling to the PRT Volume. In the process, the code of Frost was affected, so the last Beta build of Frost came out with the code of the internal PRT Volume progress display…
