new Tile Rendering 3dsMax UI feedback

Add ability to “CREATE FROM…” (a) 1 or more selection sets in the current scene, (b) 1 or more layers in the current scene, © 1 or more certain materials (which are applied to objects currently visible in the viewport) or (d) ability to select from any arbitrary parameter in 3dsMax which matches X number of objects currently visible in the selected viewport? (possibly going OTT on this last request!)

Essentially, I’m asking to go for it, on extending what is possible in different functions for users to quickly get the desired tile/region setup they require to get the image patches out ASAP.

Apart from this comment above, I just can’t get this thing to break nor find anything else wrong with it! (I haven’t tested the Draft Tile Assembler part yet…)

I did not add that because both Selection Sets, Layers and Materials let you make scene selections, and then you can just use the existing feature to create from selection… I am not saying I won’t do it, but it is currently possible to do with a few more clicks.

So I will continue working on the animation feature for now… :wink:

individual region tracking per frame? I was thinking with the number of potentially created ‘temp’ files per frame, including individual RE passes, then it would probably be a good idea to enforce the creation of a directory for each [frame + RE’s]. Especially, if the temp files are not cleaned up after assembly.
