Not a problem but draft 1.2 license won't allow 1.1

Hi Folks,

The lovely Andrea helped me out over the weekend in getting us an updated draft build for deadline 6 so we could have lut support. Just as a thing, a license for draft 1.2 doesn’t seem to allow draft 1.1 or below to operate. Here’s the output from our deadline 6.2 / draft 1.1 used with a 1.2 draft license:

It’s no issue for us now as we’ve changed to using draft 1.2 but Radka was surprised that 1.1 didn’t behave and asked me to post the log here.

Cheers!

John

Thanks for letting us know! I’ll look into this right away…

Hi John,

Looking at these lines in the log:

0: STDOUT: License file does not support this version. 0: STDOUT: Feature: draft 0: STDOUT: Application version > License version: 1.2 > 1.10Are you sure that you were trying to run Draft 1.1 with the 1.2 licence? That error message seems to indicate the opposite… trying to run Draft 1.2 with a Draft 1.1 licence.

Just posting a bit here.

All new licenses for Draft should be backward compatible back to the original release. Can we make sure that the license for 1.2 is available?

I don’t much care for lmtools, but there’s an tab there for ‘server diags’. It should show something similar to the following (except that we gave ourselves a permanent license of Draft  ):
…
This license can be checked out

“draft” v1.20, vendor: thinkbox
License server: lic-thinkbox
floating license starts: 1-jan-1990, no expiration date
Andrea also tells me we were able to load Draft 1.1.1 from a 1.2 license.

Feel free to give us a call at 1-866-419-0283 ext 2 and we can lend a hand.

Regards,

Edwin
