Nuke - stuck tasks, again

This is a rather serious issue as every single Nuke job that renders rather fast (4-10s per task) gets stuck. I see tasks still reporting “in progress” or “rendering” while the files are already rendered and stored on the server.

This completely tips off Deadline in the end as machines are idle, but tasks are still being processed, the Power Management then seems to be off and some other functionality, I’ve noticed, got broken.

Is there anything I can do? I need both intensive Nuke jobs to be rendered as well as these simple “processing” jobs that take a few seconds to render each frame, which seems to be a huge problem for Deadline. :cry:

I would seriously suggest switching to the 5.1 beta version. We just released beta 2 this week, and it includes a lot of improvements, including the additional checks that should hopefully prevent this problem from occurring. If you still have this problem with beta 2, then we can address it during the beta. Because it’s beta software, we can add debugging code and print statements to figure out where things are going wrong.

We already consider beta 2 production ready, so based on these issues you’re having, it’s probably in your best interest to upgrade. :slight_smile:

The upgrade for me is a little more work than usual due to the many tweaks and changes I’ve made to the submission scripts and other scripts in the software, that’s also another reason why I haven’t upgraded my actual renderfarm yet. :slight_smile:
