I’m testing Deadline 4.1 with AE CS5 in license free mode. When I submit my job I only get 15 frames in the output file. Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? We’re using DeadlineCommand.exe from the command prompt.
Have you tried submitting the same job manually from the AE interface to see if you get the same problem? Also, if you could post the render log from the job that only used 15 frames, that would be helpful too. Just right-click on the completed job and select Job Reports -> View Log Reports.
Ryan, here is the log file. I’m going to see what happens if I submit directly from AE. I’ll report back.

Thanks for the log. It looks like Deadline is passing the correct frame range to AE, so I’m not sure what the problem is. I did notice that the “Continue On Missing Footage” option is enabled. What happens if you disable it? Maybe there is a missing input file and instead of reporting an error, AE just goes as far as it can go and saves the movie file.
i got the same problem with ae cs4 though. From eleven slaves always when we render one (random) is making 15 frames tasks!!! have always to resubmitt the tasks
Can you post the render log from the job that only used 15 frames? Just right-click on the completed job and select Job Reports -> View Log Reports. I can check to see if it has anything in common with the log that Erick originally posted.
Can you refer me to a specific file in that collection? There are 90 logs in there, and the first few I looked at seems to imply that the frames are being rendered. For example:
This shows frames 1300 to 1399 being passed to AE, and the progress shows that each frame was rendered. The same for a couple other logs I looked at.
Really, all I need is one log. The easiest way to get this log is to submit a job with a single task that reproduces this problem (to get a single task, set the Frames Per Task to equal the number of frames in the job). Then when the job is finished, right-click on the job in the Monitor and select Job Reports -> View Log Reports. Save the log and attach it to your next post.
