Previously it was possible to install the repository to any connected drive. With RC5, at least, it now seems to be limited in the installer to the OS drive alone. That’s far from ideal and is a break in behaviour from any previous version of Deadline. I’ve attached a screenshot of the installer refusing to allow me to choose a non-system disk destination.
This can be worked around, but only by using the ‘customize’ installation and directly choosing the Deadline folder containing your repository. The downside is that the installation then completes without ever calling the repository set up wizard…
No such issue with the RC4 installer.
As far as I know, this is the way it’s always worked…
But this is not. We can reproduce the repository setup wizard issue, and we’re looking into it.

Nope - installing RC4, I can choose any disk and the installer doesn’t raise any errors. That’s good - I don’t know why the repository should be required to install only on the system disk, after all.
Ah, yup, I was wrong. You can select a different destination using the Change Install Location option, but even with RC5, I’m able to do this.
We have figured out why the postflight stuff wasn’t working, so that will get fixed, but I can’t reproduce the specific issue with the limited destination choices problem that you’re seeing.
The destination issue is still present in RC6, sadly.
