"Output Directory" greyed out when multiple .vrscene files are selected

How does Deadline get the output folder/path? Does it read this directly from each vrscene file?

I took a quick glance, and I believe it lets V-Ray decide where the output goes (it’s baked into their scene file), since specifying 1 override path for two or more files can lead to conflicts.

In certain workflows (selecting ‘Renderable on AWS’) we do actually parse the scene file(s) for this information, but not by default as it can take a decent amount of time. I also believe that it doesn’t parse every scene file in that list, so if you want to have any more customization over the output I’d recommend doing separate jobs per scene file, unless you’re using the “Separate Input Vrscene Files Per Frame” option.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
