output error

I keep getting this error when I submit my maya render jobs to Deadline:

  • Ignoring output filename “//Blah/blah/blah/blah//.####.exr” because: Illegal characters in path.

I tried setting the “.” to a “_” in the render globals but it never seems to take as the files always output with a “.”. Is there something else that I need to do to fix this? It doesn’t seem to affect the rendering but I can never open the render output from deadline because it doesn’t see it as a valid path etc. etc.

I am using Deadline 9 with maya 2017. Thanks!

Hey Christian,

Maya is actually writing the output but you just cannot use Explore output because Deadline can’t recognize the path. Is that correct? Can you please tell me what version of 9 you are on so I can check for any bugs related to the version.
