PArray : particles ain't rendering.

Hello everybody,

I’m rendering oceans whitecaps based on allan mckay’s tutorial. When i use pflow it renders fine but with parray particles ain’t showing in the render. I increased the density still no luck.

Any idea what i am doing wrong?

For now, uncheck “>Scale Density using Material Opacity” - the particles will render with the Custom Particle Color override.

Looks like there is at least one bug here, possibly two. It seems that the material is not taken from PArray correctly, and when the Custom Color is used instead of the material, the opacity multiplication is also wrong.

We will fix this on Monday.

Thanks for reporting it!

Turns out there is only one big bug here - having a material assigned to a Legacy particle system seems to kill its density and the density of any legacy particles evaluated after it, with or without materials.

Use the color override for now and do not check the >Multiply Density because the material appears to be incorrectly acquired and will also kill the density. Even better, do not assign materials to legacy particle systems like PArray or Superspray until the bug is fixed.

Logged as defect 4335.

This was fixed today.

New build will be in your hands very very soon.
