In Krakatoa, to get a “streak” look, you would have to assign a “Velocity” channel to define the direction and length of the streak, then enable motion blur.
Rendering streaks like this has the side effect that the holdouts will be motion blurred as well. That was discussed a little bit on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=164&t=12361
