PhoenixFD Direct Load

Is it possible?

Found it. but doesn’t seem to render. Does it need additive lighting?

Phoenix simulator is putting out particle id’s and Prt PFD’s are checked in the Krakatoa renderer. Direct Light has Krakatoa shadows, but nothing renders. The same source brought into Particle Flow does render. Any hints?

I must admit I don’t have Phoenix here and have never used it myself, with or without Krakatoa.
So let’s try to figure out what is going on. When you say “nothing renders”, does this mean you get 0 particles (you can check this in several places including the PCache button’s right-click menu, the Memory Channels rollout in the Krakatoa GUI, the Log Window of Krakatoa, or the Krakatoa Schematic Flow. If you are getting 0 particles, we should figure out why Krakatoa is not “seeing” the object. If you are getting particles but they render black RGB, or do not appear in camera, we will have to concentrate on the particle channels.

Can you please confirm whether you are getting 0 particles or more than 0 particles when you render? We can go from there.

Sadly I’ve got 0 particles. Can work around it with PF, but it’s so slow.

It worked on or around Nov 21, 2011 when Krakatoa 2.0 was in beta for me, sadly I don’t recall what I did. Although I do remember it being an “oh duh” type of solution to get it to work.

I unfortunately have no access to Phoenix or even Krakatoa 2.0 for the next 22 days. After said time i will be happily plugging away on my own workstation again, if you haven’t figured it out by then PM me here and I will try it again.

FumeFX 3.0 is out today anyway why would you want to use Phoenix  Eh hem Darcy?

Is Fume faster?
