I’ve just finished a project where I was using phxFD particles with K_MY. Once you have your phx sim, in the PhoenixFDPGroup node of the sim, there’s the “Create Particle System” checkbox. click that and you get an nParticleShape node. Now, when you open the Krakatoa PRT saver, the nparticleshape node is available in the “objects to save” side.
Works great, although one gotcha, not on Krakatoa, but on the phx side is if you’re phx sim doesn’t start at frame one, duplicate the first frame of your sim to pad the cache out (e.g. your cache starts on frame 75, so copy the frame 75 cache file for frames 1 - 74). If you don’t do this, the nparticleShape from phx doesn’t go back to the initial state when you rewind to frame 1.

Thanks! That was for a proof of concept for this spot we just finished, showing that we could indeed use PhoenixFD with Krakatoa MY, without having to go to 3ds max.
