Plugin for Arion Renderwarrior

Am I correct in assuming that in order to render with Arion Renderwarrior on Deadline I need to write my own plugin/submission script?

You could do that, or you could submit a generic command line job to Deadline:
thinkboxsoftware.com/deadlin … o_Deadline

We would be interested in supporting Arion out of the box though. We’ll contact RandomControl to see if we can get some test licenses.

Ah great, would be cool with native support…

In the meanwhile, I’ve hired a programmer to make the plugin - should be ready later today

Any news from RandomControl?

The plugin I had programmed is working. Please let me know if you want to try it out…

Yup! They were kind enough to give us a license for testing, and we are working on the plugin right now in hopes to have it ready for 6.0’s release. If you want to share what you have, that would be great!

Cheers,

Hi Russell,

That’s super good news!! I’ll be happy to share it!

Unfortunately, I have learned some not soo good news just now - Seems that animations are not possible with the rcs format unless one exports a batch of them from 3dsmax…

Hello Martin.

I'm afraid that the answer is simple: You can't.
The RCS file format no longer supports multiple frames since Arion 2. We delegated all support for multi-frame animation to the LIVE plug-ins.
An RCS file is a single-frame file which contains all the intra-frame sub-framing information for motion blur. The only way to achieve what you want to do would be to export one RCS per frame.
What platform are you working in? I am asking because it is not really possible to automate an export of one RCS per frame in MAX or RHINO (the export button can't be automated).
We have no plans to work on this unless we speak of some sort of custom modification. But I guess that one possibility if we're speaking of MAX LIVE would be to allow to 'maxscript-call' the export button, or to create a new button that exports one RCS per frame itself.

I am sorry that my answer is so negative, but these are the facts. :frowning:

Thanks! Much appreciated!
