Power Managment - Slave Scheduling

Hi Ryan,

It is possible turn off and turn on the machines through Power Managment - Slave Scheduling

I have read the online manual and i try to do alone, but nothing happen

Can you help me ?

Hi Andre,

The slave scheduling only stops and starts the slave application. If you want to power off and power on the machines, you need to use the Idle Shutdown and Wake On Lan features of Power Management.

Cheers,

Hi ryan,

i still didn´t manage to put the Power Management working.
I did the following stpes (see attachment), and nothing happen.

What i want to do with the Power Management is :

When slaves are in idle the Power Management it will shutdown all machines in render farm and he will power on when slaves receive a new job or when I schedule to turn on machine for a especific day.

Sorry for my English

Are you running Pulse? Pulse handles all the power management operations, and logs information that you can check if something is going wrong. Just make sure to enable Pulse Verbose Logging in the Repository Options.

Hi Ryan,

I already manage to shutdown the machine (st12) when the slave is idle, but I’m not able to turn it on when we send a new job the st12.
Please see the pulse message on the attach file, it says

" Wake On Lan: Checking job “Garden Village_Geral_aerogerador_mattes_02” (000_096_999_700d6bcb)
Wake On Lan: - job is not part of a pool, any slaves should be woken up
Wake On Lan: - slaves that are candidates to be woken up: St12,Render01
Wake On Lan: - checking slave St12
Wake On Lan: - waking up offline slave St12 because it is required to render job “Garden Village_Geral_aerogerador_mattes_02”
Power Management: No power management notification address specified in Repository Options - cannot send notification "

St12 has the “wake on lan” turn on in the bios and it is on the same subnet that the repository, and I already manage to turn it on with other programs that do wake on lan.
What are we doing wrong?

Regards
Andre

Can you try sending the wake on lan message via the Monitor by right-clicking on the slave and selecting Remote Control -> Start Machine? I’m curious to see if it works here or not.

Hi ryan

See attach
