prevent 'app has crashed' window

Hi guys,
We have a couple of win7 slaves that have an extremely annoying ‘handy feature’:
Whenever a render process crashes, Deadline slave does not
react because a ‘mayabatch has crashed’ window is sitting on the
desktop, waiting for me to manually click the ‘close program’ button.

I’ve already disabled error reporting, hence just the close program button.
Is there any way without installing 3rd party stuff to just
prevent the window from appearing and allow the mayabatch process to end, so Deadline Slave can handle the crash?

Cheers!
Dennis

Hi Dennis,

The problem with these Windows crash popups is that they’re part of the operating system, and not part of the application (ie: maya). So Deadline can’t detect these popups like it would a normal one. If you’ve already disabled Error Reporting, I’m not sure what else can be done other than installing 3rd party software to handle it. Do you have examples of 3rd party software that handle these popups?

Cheers,

Maybe the info at the bottom of this page is relevant. I’m not at work now so can’t verify its use. I’ll post back when I get some results.
