PRT deform with a HOT4Max surface

Hello guys,

Big help I need to complete my personal project. In this tutorial vimeo.com/83258612 Hristo Velev explaining how to deforms a PRT with a HOT4Max surface with Magma flow. And here is the problem I am using older version of Magma ( Krakatoa 1.6…) and I dont have few of the node operator which he using in the tutorial. I am talking about “Input Object”. In my version I have only “Input Geometry”. Is there any method to do that set up with the older version of Magma or I have to purchase the new one

Unfortunately, 1.6 is now about 6 years old, and a lot of things that can be done with Magma 2 cannot be achieved with that ancient version.

However, you could get the latest Krakatoa 2.5.x version and install it next to the Krakatoa 1.6.x (by renaming the 1.6 installation folder, installing 2.5, and then switching the plugin.ini to point to only one of them at a time as needed). You can then apply the deformations as shown in the video using Magma 2 in v2.5 running in License-free mode, bake the deformations to a new PRT sequence, and then switch back to 1.6 for rendering.

This all assumes that you are running Max 2012, since that’s the highest 3ds Max version supported by 1.6.2, and the lowest version supported by 2.5.

I am not sure it is worth the pain though, Krakatoa 2.5 is SO much better than 1.6 it is not even possible to describe :nerd:
If you had a valid license of 1.6, you might want to get on 2.5 - the upgrade cost in $370.

Thank you.
