PRT FumeFX

This thing is cool! great idea/implementation.

I guess you guys always start on frame 1? Or is this for PRT grid visualization?

PRT FumeFX gives a fully populated grid on frame 0 even though the fume start frame is 0, it then proceeds to populate the grid properly on frame 1.

The only smoke being generated is from fuel, which is what I am guessing is going on, as if I switch off “smoke in seed” removes the 0 frame grid populous but I want smoke  so I raise the value from the default 0.01 to 0.93 (the point at which it disappears) but in doing so I loose most all of my fuel generated smoke downstream.

Note that if I leave it on the defualt settings AFTER frame 0 it appears as I would expect.

I have attached the scene in question - Max 2010 FumeFX 1.2e
max2010_FFX12_KRKb6_PRTFumeTEST_01.rar (18.6 KB)

Good catch. The Smoke channel doesn’t exist on the first frame of the simulation and I wasn’t properly setting the default values so the entire volume was getting filled. It should behave like you would expect once I fix this.

Thanks Darcy
