PRT Maker Designer Render BCKG

Hi together,

it would be great if there would be a settin for choosing the rendered preset background in the Maker/Designer. On using the dark UI from Max the preview is heavy dark and its a little bit difficult to discover details.
Also a possibilitie to delete a preset would be fine. (didnt I found it?).
A switch button in the Krakatoa Toolbar for the Shadow Explorer would be great and also if the color of the button not only changes on click. Instead if it is activated… Didnt remember the other buttons now.
I find that if the textcolor of the op’s in the MagmaEditor would be white they werde more readable.
Well another cosmetic one in the shadow explorer: If I doubleclick on the Krakatoa cell I can switch between 1 and 0. But just in the case If I have choosen Krakatoa Shadows primal, else not. Wouldnt it make sense if I could activate Krakatoa Shadow also if I hadnt choosen them originally? By the way, thanks for the refresh button. Max UI wont update if I check cast shadows in the shadow explorer.

Cheers,
-Olly

Please note that Krakatoa MX 2 was released yesterday, so these changes will be for the next point update.
Also, you posted this in the Krakatoa SR Beta forum, I had to move it to Krakatoa MX Beta.

Are you talking about the Render Preset SCREENSHOT? I am not sure I follow. I just create a snapshot of the current viewport, whatever it is. You can change the background if it does not look good. I am not sure it is a good idea to swap the background while taking the snapshot, but I could try.

Also, while I understand that Max ships with dark UI by default, it is a very bad color setup (compared to pretty much anything from Toxik through Fusion, Nuke or Maya), so supporting it is a PITA and not something that can be done easily.

You can delete presets using the Explore button - just delete the files you don’t want. I did not want to expose a delete option to the UI, because it invites people to delete things they might need later. Better safe than sorry. In fact, I would suggest moving the files to a sub-folder instead of deleting them…

There is a KrakatoaShadows icon under “Krakatoa” category. It does what you want.

We cannot control the text color of the Helium control used by MagmaFlow. It depends on the background color - bright nodes get black text, dark nodes get white text. You can modify the color settings of your nodes in the Display Options dialog and if you make them darker, you will force white text as a side effect.

Fair point about double-clicking the Yes/No in the Krakatoa column. It should assign the Krakatoa Shadows if they are not there yet.
