python error with nuke.py

Hi,
we have a serious error with nuke rendering. I post it here, although it was in the 4.1 version earlier, (as I posted it here) but a mono reinstall fixed that. That’s why I think it’s not a bug with 5.0, rather some kind of incompatibility with our system. Now it’s happening again with 5.0 rc6. Mono reinstall didn’t help.
Slave says:

The strange is it’s happening only to our bigger render machines, no problem with the regular workstations, rendering the same script.
We are using deadline rc6 (it started on beta 3, that’s why jumped to rc6)
Fedora core 10, nuke submit.
Slave restart sometimes helps, they render properly for a while, but then it goes wrong again.
Any help appreciated, because we are at the finish of a big project, and the deadline is closer and closer
Thanks!

Which version of Mono do you have installed? A quick way to check is to open a terminal and run the following:

mono -V

Thanks!

It’s 2.6.7
Now we are trying to put a working fedora system (from a workstation) to the rendermachines, or make a try with a ubuntu system. I’m sure the problem is on our end, (and mono is the most suspicious) but if you have any suggestion, please share.
Thanks,
Gabor

I would avoid ubuntu until you can upgrade to Deadline 5.0 (which will be released next week). There were some issues with 4.1 and ubuntu/debian that we’ve fixed in 5.0. Also, 5.0 supports Mono 2.10.x, so you could try that version as well if/when you upgrade to 5.0.

For now though, cloning a working system is a good idea.

Cheers,

Hi,
we are currently using 5.0rc6 for comp, is it ok for ubuntu?

Thanks,
Gabor

Yup, it should work fine.

Also, sorry, for some reason I forgot we were discussing this in the 5.0 beta board.
