Quicktime AE debug

Hi there,

I am attempting to render out a QT via a AE submission. The job completes however there is no file generated.

Here is the log;

How would I go about debugging this?

Regards,
Marty

Hello Marty,

Wow, ok, so that doesn’t look like it did much, but the skip existing frame line makes me wonder if this was the issue. Can you verify that setting is turned off, or that the output is not preexisting? Thanks

Hi D,

The setting is greyed out when it isn’t a image sequence so it is unable to be selected also the output is not pre-existing.

Marty

Hello Marty,

Can I ask you to run the following command on the sane node, and as the same system user that runs the slave on the machine, so we can see what happens to the render outside of Deadline?

“C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2014\Support Files\aerender.exe” -project “C:\Users\render\AppData\Local\Thinkbox\Deadline7\slave\REND070\jobsData\55f0af120ef2dd0420bf9637\s4-5.aep” -comp “track4-5_cropped” -s 0 -e 15419 -output “\squid\jobs\Les_Mills\Sprint_A\04_production\04_ragga_bomb\render\previews\test2.mov” -continueOnMissingFootage

Thanks.

Sure here is the output, looks the same as Deadline with quick render and no file

C:\Users\render>“C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2014\Support File
s\aerender.exe” -project “C:\Users\render\AppData\Local\Thinkbox\Deadline7\slave
\REND070\jobsData\55f0af120ef2dd0420bf9637\s4-5.aep” -comp “track4-5_cropped” -s
0 -e 15419 -output “\squid\jobs\Les_Mills\Sprint_A\04_production\04_ragga_bomb
\render\previews\test2.mov” -continueOnMissingFootage

Hello,

So the fact the same thing happens inside and outside of Deadline tells me it’s not something specific to Deadline, but something wither with AE or the scene. Can you contact Adobe and see if they can pinpoint the issue?

Ok cool tracked it down, so for the future, here is the the issue we had and the fix.

In the render queue under Render Settings we were using a customized template.
When we changed it from the template to ‘Best Settings’ the render went through fine. Likely you can copy the customized template to the rendernodes and it will render fine, however I haven’t investigated that at this stage.

Attached is a pic for context.

Ahh, thanks for letting us know the issue you found. Good to know!
