I’ve noticed an odd discrepancy in the frame rates of some of our recent quicktimes. When we make a settings file using Avid DNxHD codec and set a custom frame rate to 23.98, Quicktime reports the frame rate as 23.97. Importing the same frames into quicktime and creating the same movie directly will result in a 23.98 frame rate, however. Looking at the log reports, we notice that the supplied frame rate to the generator is indeed 23.98. Has anyone noticed this before or have a recommended fix? We believe it’s causing some frame issues with one of our clients importing our QTs into an Avid.
Are you rendering these QTs on Windows or OSX? Also, is it possible to upload a set of images that reproduces the problem, as well as a log report showing the command line arguments? We can use this to reproduce here, and try to figure out what’s going wrong.
