Hello there everyone
We are long time users of both Deadline and Fusion and have recently upgraded to 6.2.1.39 R. We have joined the beta program to be able to run Fusion 7 on Deadline. The new releases looks great and have already gone through all our major applications without any hickups. So great job there!
But we really miss the quicktimefusion plugin as it enabled us to put slates on everything we did and label it with all kinds of crucial information like frame number, file and comp names, date and time etc. All great stuff. As this feature isn’t available anymore is there another way of doing this?
Glad to hear the transition has been pretty smooth!
You should be able to use Draft to do everything you’ve listed:

You can write python scripts (aka: Draft templates) that you can reuse to automatically create slates, quicktimes, burn-ins, etc, after a job has finished rendering. There are many example scripts available, and the Draft forums is a great place to ask questions:

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot Ryan
I will look into it straight away
I have now had the chance to look into Draft, it seems to do the job when it comes to slates, watermarks end other prepping of footage for customer previews. But I can’t find any support for the “Uncompressed” , AppleProRes or Blackmagic codecs.
Is it possible to use these with Draft as we use these lot in our studio workflow?
Edvin
Hi Edvin,
We are currently working with Apple to try and negotiate the inclusion of ProRes in a future release of Draft. Your not the first person to ask for this!
I’m not sure about uncompressed and Blackmagic, so I have dropped a note to our Draft development team to answer your question. Do you know if the Blackmagic codec is freely available and allowed to be re-distributed by a 3rd party?
Hi Edvin,
As Mike said, we’re still trying to get licensing permission from Apple for ProRes. I’ll see what I can find out about the Blackmagic codec. Have you tried the RAWVIDEO codec option in Draft to see if that works for you?
I will give it a try Andrea. Thanks
