RAM/CPU stats for task reports

Why is it that the Average CPU/Peak CPU/CPU Utilisation/Average RAM/Peak RAM columns in the “Job Reports” pane only contain information for error reports? For “successful” reports, these values are all zeroed out.

Hello,

I am told this has been fixed in 7.1, if you want to get in on the beta test.

OK, good to hear. I don’t really have the bandwidth to do any more beta testing these days, but I trust you.

Hey, I know this is a late follow up, but I this is still broken in 7.1. Any word on whether it was fixed in 7.2?

Yup, definitely should be.

Thanks Edwin.

This is still broken in 7.2.1.10. The Peak/Average CPU and RAM columns are only populated for error reports.

Hello Nathan,

I am including a screenshot from out internal 7.2.1 repository which clearly shows in the job report window that these columns are filled in for successful reports, and I have verified the information is there for unsuccessful ones as well, so I am at this point unable to reproduce. Can you give some more information on the jobs in question so I might be able to give a deeper test?

Hey Dwight, I may have spoken too soon, as I had the “Gather System Resources when rendering” option disabled in the repository options.

Do you know why these stats would show up for failed tasks even with that option disabled? Is it sampling resources regardless? And can you give me any information about why/how slaves can crash on Linux/OSX (as mentioned in the tooltip for that setting)? I don’t really like the idea of flipping a coin to determine if the farm will be stable or not.

I can confirm there was a concern, but unfortunately the people I need to ask aren’t available until next week(Tuesday as Monday is a holiday here). I will look into this and get back to you next week.
