I put the new license system in place, along with the new license file. The daemon starts on the server and reports this :

None of the nodes can find the license server, though.
frantic is not included in the flexlmtools folder in the repository, either. The license file looks for ‘frantic’ for the Deadline 5.0 license. Is the inability to start this daemon rendering the entire license invalid?
If you still have the ‘frantic’ binary kicking around somewhere, you could just copy it to the flexlmtools folder. If not, you could install a previous version of the Deadline Repository temporarily to grab it.
To clarify things, you need ‘frantic’ to run Deadline 5.0, and you need ‘thinkbox’ to run 5.1. They are not cross compatible, but they can both run at the same time, so you should be able to access both licenses. We completely understand this is a pain in the ass, so we apologize for that. It was just a necessary evil that needed to be done at some point.
I extracted frantic from the DL5.0 installer and that hasn’t resolved the problem. Both daemons are running, the system doesn’t complain, but no licenses appear to be getting served. The firewall has the same ‘allow connections’ set for lmgrd that was always set; no firewall prompts are shown on the server (as per usual)
I’ve tried running the slaves with and without the license server being specified, it makes no difference. None of them can establish a connection with the license server. The previous build was working fine, and I’ll roll-back and verify that later today. Right now, though, it’s busted. Hopefully it’s only my set-up that’s affected.
Do have a firewall you need to add an exception to for ‘thinkbox’? If the ‘thinkbox’ server is running, that’s the only think I can think of that would prevent the slaves from communicating with it.
What’s the error message the slaves are giving you?
RC1 and later requires a new license because we changed license vendor daemons. Have you requested this new license yet? If not, please shoot an email to sales@thinkboxsoftware.com to request it. If you have already received this new license, and you’re still having trouble with it, can you email sales with a screenshot of the full error message you’re getting?
There were some issues with the first batch of new licenses that went out, so if you want to include your current license file along with that screenshot, we’ll take a look.
