Given how the Autodesk Recap format is invading all of their products now, I was wondering if there was any way to go from a rcs file to a prt without me first having to go back to the source file (pre-Recap, like a FARO fls) and export a ptx in order to then convert into a prt. I’m not familiar enough with recap to know if they have published any sdk to allow you guys to read those files or otherwise convert from an “Autodesk Point Cloud Object” that was introduced with 2015 Ext 2.
Originally we were told the file would not be accessible to us.
But after meeting with some Autodesk people at REAL 2015 earlier this year, it sounded like we might get access to the format after all. I am not sure when that might happen. I will ask around…
Right now your workaround is probably the best way there is.
