Red Line Artifacts using Point Light

Hello,

I’m experiencing artifacts of red lines within the particles when rendering in Krakatoa, only if i use a point light within the particles.
I’m using emission and absorb.

I’ve found i can rid of the red lines when i turn on light pass density, however i then begin to see gaps within the particles where it almost looks like artifacts of rays within. I couldn’t find the balance between the 2 values to make it look the way it does with this render, but with no red lines.

Any assistance to get rid of the redlines would be appreciated.

Hi Dan,

Could you upload the EXR output of this so we can check the actual real unclamped pixel values?
There might be some bad math going on there, but I haven’t seen this before.
If you could share the actual scene setup/particle data so we could re-render it ourselves, it would be even more helpful!

The particle data was pretty large, I wouldn’t be able to upload that anywhere. (gb’s)

I’ve deleted the partitions by now, but I’ll re-partition to a similar amount and output an EXR for you.

I did notice, if i tested without partitions, it rendered without the red lines. I’l try again. :slight_smile:
