Remote Command pane question

I’m curious what the purpose of the lower pane in the Remote Command pane is. So far, I have yet to see anything end up there, and it just sort of occupies space in the UI.

Hi Nathan,
The lower pane should display the contents of each remote command, when selected in the top pane. Depending on the remote command sent / script executed, it should display the result and any STDout/err.

Ah, I see. I guess things like stopping and restarting slaves just don’t have any output.

Thanks Mike.

Yep, if there is an error, say when restarting a slave (like launcher isn’t running) then a “result” is displayed as can be seen in my screen-grab. When the remote commands like start/stop/restart slave are successful, then there is no “Results”. Perhaps for consistency we should have a ‘result’ no matter what the outcome is, so we always display something in the bottom pane. I’ll log it and see what the guys think.
Thanks,
Mike
