Is it possible to define the Repository by an Environment Variable? Our repo info keeps getting corrupted on random slaves from time to time. Any chance I can just define it as an Env Variable and call it good?
No, not currently. Can you use Auto-Config?

Already use it.
Right, so your using auto-config to assign the repo path and the INI file sometimes becomes unreadable?

Could you post this file and also the logs from a machine displaying this issue, so we can see if anything stand out here.
I’ll keep my eyes open for it, but I’ve submitted this bug (with logs) in every beta since like v6.0 beta 4 so not to be too curt, I’ve given up and would just like a workaround for when it ‘inevitably’ fails.
In short I just end up with a completely blank ini file from time to time. And then the launcher fails until I delete the file.
Gavin,
After an internal discussion, could you confirm exact version of Deadline being used and when this happens, do you know for sure, if the file is 100% blank OR does it just, maybe contain [Deadline] in it? The release notes for Deadline 7.1.0.35 confirm this was fixed, so if it’s still happening, it must be something else. So, your answers here are key.
Totally blank. It looks like 95% of our farm is on 7.2.0.18 and for some reason some of our slaves I’m noticing now are on 7.1.2 (I’ll need to look into why those haven’t autoupgraded). Everybody is at least past 7.1.0 though.
