Are you guys able to load your saved bermuda scenes?
max 2011 64b, win7 pro:
-start max
-ctrl+c to create a cam from the perspective view
-create a bermuda object, accept the deafults
-save the scene
-load the scene
crash
humm… i tried these exact steps in 3ds max 2010, and it does not crash. i will test it on 2011 when i get a chance.
does this always happen? does it work if you exit max between save and load?
Yes, always. Even restarting max. Could it be some uac based thingy, maybe…
I installed max 2011 and did what you did, but could’nt reproduce the crash. It might help me if you sent me the crash dump (it’s the .dmp file located in your %TEMP% folder, usually called minidump something). I can look at the crash dump to determine where it’s crashing. Does this happen if you remove the other plugins from your plugin.ini (in the max 2011 program files folder)?
First thing, I’m gonna disable uac, then try edit plugin.ini, then send the dmp. Sounds ok?
Disabled uac, uninstaled and reinstalled bermuda, it works now. shrugs
Interesting… if anyone else on the forums is having this problem, please let me know. When I get a chance, I’ll experiment with the user access control settings on my Windows install also.
I must add that maybe my win7 install is probably a bit coocoobananas. Had worked on win7pro before, never had all this paranoid messages and had to start so much stuff in admin mode etc.
Well, this is kind of a long shot, i doubt this is the case, but internally, i use the file c:\conradwiebe\temp.txt for debugging. Does that file appear on your computer (which would explain a crash if it couldn’t write to that location)? I don’t think I would have left anything like that in there, but I figured I’d check with you.
No, not at all.
