Saved layout doesn't carry over filters.

Deadline Client Version: 8.0.0.69 Release (f4bf23642)

I posted this on the main forums but figured I should make a bug report about it. When I save my layout and then load it up into another Monitor the filters on my tabs and the filter names don’t carry over.

On a side note, it seems we also lost the ability to add a name to the tab without adding a filter. I was able to do this in 7 and it was really useful.

Thanks

I also just noticed that it didn’t carry over any of my custom column configurations.

Thanks for the report! Do the actual filters port over properly? Or is it just the name of the filters, along with the column visibility/positioning?

I’ve logged this in our internal bug tracker – we should be able to get a fix out for this in a future 8.0 bugfix release. I’ll also have a look at the tab naming without creating a filter, that sounds like an unintended regression.

Cheers,
Jon

Hey Jon! So here are the issues that I’ve noticed so far.

  1. None of the filters transfer. What ever filtering I did have got reset to default.

  2. All of the column customizations get reset. Basically every column is turned on

  3. The positioning does seem to transfer.

Thanks

James

I’m curious if this issue was resolved in the latest patch? I did notice some monitor layout improvements in the release notes, but nothing about this specifically.

I’ve noticed this too

Unfortunately this wasn’t resolved in the latest patch quite yet, but we’re planning on making patch releases for stuff like this a more common occurrence. I believe one of our developers are currently working on this issue, so if all is well the fix should make it in the next patch release (should be within a couple weeks).

Thanks for the update Jon. One quick question. Will the fix also allow layouts from 7 to be imported into 8?

Unfortunately not, that is something that we still need to investigate separately.

We changed the way the layouts are stored in 8.0, which led to the incompatibility, so I’m not sure that will be fixable, however.
