I just saw yesterday’s press release from Autodesk U about the release of Sequoia. Congrats to everyone on getting 1.0 out the door. I hope it is well received and that the wider release generates even more useful feedback for you.
I’m curious what pricing was decided on? Of course, I would also love to know what the plans are for the next development cycle.
Thanks for the kind words! We’re at booth #520 if you or anyone else is here at Autodesk U and can drop by.
The final pricing we decided on is $2995, which includes 1 workstation and 2 processing licenses, and $495 for additional processing nodes. The biggest next feature is to tackle the point segmentation workflows that were requested here, the amount of effort put into describing how that could work was just phenomenal in those posts.
Excellent, I think that is a really underserved part of the market right now. There is probably a good opportunity for somebody to come in with some well thought out efficient tools and really own this part of the workflow.
Hopefully we’ll have some improvements to the meshing algorithms to look forward to too…
