I’m trying to setup a few new render nodes but a couple machines are returning:
“Error: 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.”
Any ideas on what I should check? If I just start the launcher in user context it starts fine.
Ok… the plot thickens.
Apparently ALL of our render nodes are stuck in perpetual “starting”. But they show up in the deadline monitor as running. So apparently something broke in some build of Deadline and Windows doesn’t know that the service has successfully started anymore. But they work fine. So it’s just a ‘cosmetic’ bug in the service/Windows interaction.
Have you installed the .NET framework that Deadline needs to run?

Which version of Deadline are you running? This issue should have been fixed in Deadline 5.1.47014. See the release notes under Launcher Improvements:
