Hi - this might be a mistaken assumption on my part, but there seems to be a problem setting file destination when rendering to file.
If I set the file location in the Krakatoa dialog below, and start to render, then I’m warned that there is no destination set. So I have to revert back to standard renderer, set the location in the ‘save’ tab, then re-select Krakatoa and begin the render. This seems incorrect to me. Ideally I should be able to set the path simply in the Krakatoa settings; or use the standard Cinema dialogue with some sort of multi-pass list of passes to include.
Also it seems annoying for the user to have to specify individual names per pass. I’d prefer to use one filename - say grey_smoke.exr or whatever, then have the plugin label each selected pass or layer - grey_smoke_depth.exr etc.
according to your screen, only the BlueRed.exr should be saved, is that not the case? I know there is currently an issue with EXR saving in general, so this might be the case here.
Else I assume that saving a multilayer exr is the way to go anyways. (Choose this in the Dropdown where you selected Render to File)
Wouldn’t the best workflow be that you set the save path and filename, then check the boxes for the passes required, the renderer then adds the appropriate suffix at the end of each pass.
Setting a file path for each pass seems like poor workflow.
Hi - the file ‘BlueRed.exr’ is saved, but only once, irrespective of how many frames are rendered. Also there’s a warning, that no files will be saved. Once I switch back to Standard Renderer, and set the path there, the animation gets saved as a proper sequence. Will experiment a bit more and see if I can clarify this, to find out the exact circumstances, if it varies with file format etc.
Well be sure to set the output range properly and keep the #### in the filename for proper numbering of the sequence.
Disable the saving in the standard renderer and you should be good to go for now.
A more suitable workflow will be worked out eventually.
