slave log always scrolls

Hi there

It seems that you can’t go back in a slave’s log and ‘lock’ that position any more. It goes back, but keeps scrolling as new entries come in, with the initial offset that was set. So it does not skip to the end constantly, but its also not locked.

cheers,
laszlo

Hey Laszlo,

You can now right-click on the slave log and select Suspend Log (or press CTRL+S). This will suspend the log so you can read it without worrying about it scrolling away on you. When you’re done, you can right-click and select Resume Log (CTRL+R) to restore the current log.

I will give that a try

If i recall correctly, deadline 5 behaviour was that if you scrolled away, it would lock automatically (while growing the log, so it would not suspend). Then there was an option to reattach to the scroll. I might remember wrong?

In v5, you had to click a line, and it would stop auto-scrolling until you cleared your selection or clicked on the blank bottom line.

However, as soon as the log size hit its max, lines would start disappearing from the top of the log, and your selected line would move up until it fell off the top. So at this point, there was no good way to view something in the log. The new suspend feature solves that problem.
