Slave Starting on User Machines randomly

Hi,

We’ve had Slaves randomly starting up on artists’ machines while they’re working since 6.1. At least 6 people have it happen where they’ve closed the slave, and a while later it starts up again, sometimes as often as every 15 minutes, but at no regular interval. Some days it happens, but others it doesn’t. One user has even unchecked “Launch Slave at Startup” and has to kill the actual Slave process.

We don’t have any Power Management plans running, and nothing shows up in the Power Management history indicating it has started these slaves. No one is manually starting these slaves either.

Do you know if the slaves are closing cleanly or not? Deadline 6.1 introduced a setting where the launcher can restart the slave on its machine if it becomes stalled. If you right-click on the launcher, there is a Restart Slave If It Stalls option, and disabling it should prevent the slave from being launched again.
