Slave trying to exclude an item from TM

I’m seeing a lot of these on the nodes here:

2011-11-15 21:05:05.035 DeadlineSlave[94697:2947] This process is attempting to exclude an item from Time Machine by path without administrator privileges. This is not supported.

Can this be avoided somehow, without escalating privileges for the slave process?

I guess it’s not saying which path it’s trying to exclude? We’ll take a look and see if we can figure out what’s going on.

Cheers,

Do you have Time Machine enabled? I’m just wondering if this warning only appears when it is enabled.

Also, does it appear when the slave is sitting idle, or just when it is rendering?

We checked our code, and we can’t find any case of us explicitly excluding a path. I thought maybe it might be mono, but a quick google search didn’t turn up any cases of this being directly related to Mono.

We’ll keep digging.

I don’t tend to leave the slaves idle, so haven’t investigated that

Time Machine is enabled on the main machines, but I’ll check the nodes later - if it is enabled, it won’t make sense.

Sorry for the delay. I checked the nodes (that aren’t TM-enabled) and the message is displaying on those as well. The message only seems to be displayed during initial start-up of the slave process. Once a scene is loading, etc., the message does not get displayed.

Weird. At least the error message isn’t repeated over and over again, but it would be nice to know what’s going on. Is the Slave the only process that prints this out?
