I have a bunch of workstations that were rendering fine, but for now reason give an access denied whenever they try to run an application. Nothing has changed with permissions.
“Exception during render: An error occurred in RenderTasks(): Error starting “D:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2013\bin\mayabatch.exe” in “D:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2013\bin” : Access is denied.”
Happens with Max and Nuke too.
Strange…
Have you tried restarting the workstations to see if that helps?
not just yet, due to things the artist had open at the time. I will try now and get back to you.
Thanks for trying that. I did some googling on the error, and the most common thing that came up was of course permissions. Do you run the slave as a service, or as a regular application? In either case, is it possible the slave is running as a different user than the one that’s logged in?
Also, could you try setting permissions on D:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2013\bin so that the ‘Everyone’ user has full read/write permissions? I would just test this on one machine to see if it makes a difference.
Cheers,
I too went through the google results, and nothing has changed in terms of users and permissions. I also had a case of another machine having this problem, and it has resolved itself.
I will keep trying different things, and if I find something, i will post it here. Thanks again Ryan.
They all run as a regular application, the service wasn’t working well.
Also nothing has changed in terms of permissions.
