slaves do not pick up tasks anymore

I just installed the latest build on OSX again after uninstalling all previous verisons including the monog db.
Got everything up and running nicely again now and submitted my first test job from Nuke.
Now the job is sitting in the monitor but none of the tasks are being processed by the slaves (slave status is “idle”).

I checked to make sure the slaves are not blacklisted and have now run out of ideas.

How can I debug this? Is it me or DL? Any ideas?

Thanks,
frank

Hey Frank,

Is the job accumulating errors? You can check the Error column in the job list to see if this is the case. Just trying to figure out if the job is getting picked up but erroring out right away, or if it’s not getting picked up at all.

If the job isn’t accumulating errors, check the machine limit in the job properties to see if you have an empty Whitelist. We discovered this week that it was possible to submit a job with an empty whitelist, which we will be fixing for beta 10, and we’re wondering if you might be hitting this.

Other things to check are the pool and group the job was submitted to, as well as if the job is using any Limits.

If everything appears normal, you can use the new Job Archiving feature to archive your job and send it to us. We can then import it on our side and try to determine what the problem is. Just right-click on the job and select Archive Job.

Ahhh, it was indeed the empty white list. I did check the machine limit, but was confused by the UI. The options “blacklist” and “whitelist” are under the left field called “Slaves List”, so I assume that is the field the option refers to, when in fact it refers to the content of the right field called “Listed Slaves”.

My bad, but I would suggest lining up the “Blacklist” and WHitelisty" option with the “Listed Slaves” panel.

Thanks!

Good call. It’s on the todo list.
