Probably very low priority for now, but small annoying things (image attached)
A: in program maya submission script:
after submitting a script, that little “submission results” window pops up. for me, it pops up on the primary mojnitor (not the one maya is on sometimes), and if i bring up another few windows on top of it without closing it right away, its very hard getting back into maya. I alt tab to maya, but maya is unresponsive (waiting for me to hit “close” on the submission results window). However alt tabing onto maya doesnt bring the submission result window to the front, i have to “dig through” my other windows to find the submission results. Maybe ideally it could be on the bottom of the submission script next to the 100% / submit job button.
B: in maya submission script:
for some reason the “frame list” option has started getting grayed out in some of my scenes. (and the “camera” tab has never updated itsself based on the render globals) Not the worst, but a bit annoying, and really it might be ok to just never gray it out, even if render globals is set to just 1 frame?
(i can PM the scene that this is happening on if needed)
C: when using the script > connect with VNC, i always have to hit ok on that little window that comes up… even if password is saved and i dont need to put any information into it. just empty extra clicks.
Again, super minor things
Otherwise, new UI is amazing
A. We can get this fixed. Looks like it’s just a matter of parenting the results the dialog. We’ll do this for all dialogs that the submitter pops up.
B. There are 2 cases where we disable the frame list option:
i) Animation is disabled in the render globals.
ii) Submit Render Layers As Separate Jobs is enabled, and Override Layer Job Settings is disabled.
For (i), we have to disable the frames list, or else a frame number will be appended to the output image. For (ii), we disable it because we pull the frame list from each render layer as it’s submitted. If you choose to override the layer settings, then you’ll be able to edit the frame list.
C. You can press Enter instead of clicking the OK button, but I guess that’s still one extra input. Not sure the best way to deal with this, since you would want the window to appear if you need to change any of the VNC settings. Maybe we need to have the VNC option in the main Scripts menu to always popup the dialog so that you can change settings, but then when run through the slave right-click menu for example, it would just not display the window if the password is saved already.
Cool, sounds good on all points, thank you!
C: solution for VNC options sounds good – could always have connect with vnc and connect w/ vnc Options two seperate buttons in the script folder? might even be good to add a hotkey to “connect with vnc” (i’m so greedy with my clicks >.< haha)
We’ll put © on the wish list for 6.1 for now. Should be a straightforward addition.
We’ll also add a wishlist item for configurable keyboard shortcuts for scripts. Should be doable…
Cheers,
