SMTD check against duplicate Job Name before submitting

Hi,
Please can we add a feature to check against existing job name in the queue before submitting, to stop duplicate job names in the system.
The check needs to handle against a custom configuration such as a token of $Scene in the job Name filter.
In fact, writing this thread, it may be easier to construct this as a Sanity Check to allow for individual studio customisation?
Mike

Hey Mike,

We can probably look into implementing something like this. I’ll make sure to pass this on as a feature request to Ryan when he’s back in the office on Monday (he took the day off today!). If we implement this, it’d likely be done as a toggled repository option, so that people who would like the ability to have duplicate job names would still be able to do so. Either way, it’s something I’ll bring up with Ryan, I’m sure he’ll have more insight on the matter

Cheers,

  • Jon

Hey Mike,

We would implement this as a global repository option, and fail the job submission with the appropriate error message if it has the same name as an existing job. That way, this feature would be supported when submitting jobs from any application, not just Max.

Cheers,

  • Ryan

Thanks Ryan, that sounds perfect
