Hi,
See attached image / max2013 file.
Merge top right 3 tiles in a basic 4x4 matrix and the tile number isn’t in the centre of the newly merged tile and the region (new tile area) manipulator seems to be in-correct?
Fix’able?
Also, if you click (select) a tile in the view, it auto-updates its selection in the current camera view. With this 1 tile selected, I can shift-click more tiles to add to the selection, but ctrl+click doesn’t seem to work. Neither does using the cursor keys to move up or down the tiles, either update the view and update the current camera view’s selection.
Looking at your screenshot, the new Tile claims to be a merger of previous Tiles 2,3,4 AND 5! (which used to be second row, first from the left).
I never thought those comments would be useful for anything, but now they solved the case!
So not a bug, but user error I guess…
Ctrl+Click in the List and in the Viewport seem to work for me. One problem I could not solve is that if you Ctrl+Click in the list, previously selected Tiles get UNCHECKED and won’t render. I could not find a way around this behavior of the DotNet control, but I consider it at least a Known Limitation or probably a Bug.
I agree that using Arrow Keys Up/Down the list should update the Viewport but does not. I will look into that.
Thanks. I’m not so sure it’s a user error. Could you download the previously attached Max file and just confirm that you are correct?
(tile info has been stored in the camera)
Thanks,
Mike
The file you posted contains the original 4x4 grid, not the merged one.
If I select and merge the #2,3,4 and 5, I get exactly what you posted as screenshot, because merging non-continuous groups of tiles creates a new “bounding box” tile from the MinX,MinY to MaxX,MaxY of the selected tiles. Also, New Tile #2 Comment reads “Merged Regions 2,3,4,5.” just like in your screenshot
If I actually select #2,3 and 4, it produces the result you expected…
