We are currently computing VFX simulations with Softimage on the render farm
It goes well but for that we need to use a good trick which is basically to set the scene smoothing very low so it renders mostly cubes on a 1*1 pixel frame
although we set that to be not time consuming, what we really need are the caches generated by the simulation
the fact is that softimage will not render through deadline if no render output is set
is there another better way around or is it the way to go ?
