[SOLVED][7.2.0.16][LINUX][HOUDINI] IFD generation working on one Linux farm but not the other.

Hi there,

We’ve been testing out Deadline 7.2 in Glasgow and have entered extensive testing on our Linux (Centos 6.7) farm (Bristol) using Deadline 7.2 but we’re hitting a slight problem.

We’ve got a simple Houdini job which renders fine in Bristol on Deadline 7.0.2.3 but when we use the same submit tools and rendering plugins on 7.2.0.16 we’re getting the below error.

I’ve sent up a simple IFD job without any extra environment params being passed over which works as expected to our 7.2 farm here with Glasgow Linux nodes so we currently suspect it’s one of the envs we’re including at time of submit that’s conflicting.

The reason I’m flagging this is that there is a chance that it’s either our custom IFD job plugins not behaving as expected or there’s a param persisting on 7.2.0.16 which we can’t pin down easily at this time and hope that you can possibly help us with/advise.

I’ve tried with and without ‘job envs only’ to no avail. In the meantime we’ll persist with testing our side and let you know if we make progress.

Now some of our paths we add ahead of the job do contain some shotgun installers etc which don’t seem to affect 7.0.2.3 but on 7.2.0.16 we’re thinking they are.

If you need any more info or logs don’t hesitate to get in touch, however I’m out of office till next Friday after today.
(there’s a support ticket with archive job attached)

Hey Jamie,

Could you post the full error report from the job? It will also contain the full render log, which will help put this error in better context.

Also, do you have Path Mapping enabled for the Mantra plugin? (while in super user mode in the Monitor, select Tools -> Configure Plugins, then select Mantra)

If it is, try turning it off to see if that helps.

Thanks!
Ryan

Would seem that the env from our remote site of LD_LIBRARY_PATH was causing issues when it was submitted to our main site’s farm. Testing this more but I’m now getting output without problems when we remove that offending env. Would seem this works on 7.2.0.17 as well.

(insert face palm gif here)
Cheers
