Something sticky in the KCM

1.4.5.35773, but I’ve seen it in other 1.5 betas

I’m getting some “sticky” particle data… Not sure what’s happening, but the modifier stack for PRT Loaders isn’t always updating correctly, as if I have the PCache on, but I don’t. The “Retrieving Particles” happens, but the results are not based on the current settings for the particles.

It’s really hard to track down what’s happening, as a save and load fixes the problem, it’s unlikely I’ll be able to send a file that shows it. I’ll keep an eye out for reproduction steps, but I wanted to ask if anyone else had seen something similar, so I don’t feel like a crazy.

Some known things to keep in mind:

*Right now, the Render call does not seem to update the KCM. So if you did not press UPDATE (or Auto-updated) the flow, it won’t be reflected in the rendering.
*Changes to Texture Maps do not cause an auto-update and require the UPDATE button to be pressed.

I think the first one should be fixed. It might take care of the second case, too.
If your flow does not use texture maps and if you do press UPDATE in the KCE before rendering and it still sticks, let us know.

When I wasn’t getting the rendering I was expecting, I was going through and hitting Update. But it doesn’t seem to be helping. Right now I have to do something dramatic, like change the PRT Loader’s render percentage, or similar. I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing wrong. I’m referencing diffuse maps, and I have several KCM’s. I’ll keep trying to see if there’s a magical step that makes it do something silly.
