Spherical lens Camera override odd behaviour

Hello All,

I would like to first thanks the Krak team for their extremely efficient product and the community for the help it has provided to us those last couple of days trying to find a solution to our problem.

We try to render 1Billion pointclouds from laserscanner to a 360 spherical video for VR usage.
Loading, rendering time, heavy pcloud management is just terryfing in comparaison with the other tools avalaible…

But we have an issue. We use a standard free camera with no clipping or other exotic things, it renders ok. We oeveride the camera with a Krak camera modifier and overide type to spherical and fov to 360 and then strange things happen. Some part of the pointcloud that renders well if I use a 6 x 90° camera rig just disappear with the spherical lens.
They get clipped in a very strange ways: it is always pixels after 180°, the main axis of clipping is the opposite as the axis of the camera (if the camera points to the ground then it clips horizontaly)

We have a strict deadline and the render time for the 6 camera cubemap thing is more than 4 time the time for spherical rendering.

Please help

Antoine

Hi. Which version of Krakatoa are you experiencing this issue with?

Hi Evan,

We tested both 2.5.2 and 2.6.1 and the same happens.

Hi Antoine, I spoke with Evan and I understand you have everything sorted out. Let us know if you need anything else!
